Cookie Policy

Effective: April 3, 2026Last updated: September 17, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how PaidWrite uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies when you use our website (paidwrite.app), mobile app, and Chrome extension.

1. Overview

PaidWrite uses minimal client-side storage to operate the Service. We do not use advertising cookies, behavioral tracking cookies, or social media tracking pixels. The only analytics we run is Google Analytics 4 on the website, and it loads only after you accept analytics cookies in the consent banner.

2. Website Storage (paidwrite.app)

Key / Technology Purpose Duration Type
pw_cookie_consent Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies Until you clear site data or change your preference localStorage
pw_waitlist_pending Remembers that you submitted the waitlist form so we can show the confirmation state Until confirmation or clearing site data localStorage
Cloudflare Turnstile Bot check on the waitlist and download forms. Turnstile may set a short-lived cookie on challenges.cloudflare.com Duration of the challenge Third-party cookie / script
Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*) Aggregate usage statistics (pages visited, referrer). IP anonymisation is enabled. Only loaded after you click "Accept." Up to 2 years First-party cookies set by Google's script

To change your choice, use the Change cookie preferences link at the bottom of this page; it clears pw_cookie_consent and shows the banner again.

3. Mobile App Storage

The app has no login and no session cookies. It stores the following on your device:

Technology Purpose Duration Type
Device UUID Unique device identifier (UUID v4) generated on first launch Persistent until app uninstall or data clear Secure device storage
Device token Signs API requests from this device Persistent until app uninstall or data clear Secure device storage
App settings Language preference, onboarding completion status Persistent Local app storage
Scan history Cached copies of your analysis results for offline viewing Until you delete them Local app database

4. Chrome Extension Storage

The PaidWrite Chrome extension (private beta) uses chrome.storage.local to store:

  • device_uuid — identifies the extension installation
  • device_token — signs API requests from this installation
  • api_url — the API endpoint the extension talks to
  • sentry_dsn — the error-reporting endpoint
  • Last scan UUID and status — so the popup can show the result of the scan you just started

No cross-site tracking occurs. The extension only acts when you invoke it (right-click menu or popup) or when it shows a "Scan first" prompt on an e-signature page.

5. Cookies Set by Third Parties

Stripe

Payment happens on a Stripe Checkout page that opens in your browser. Stripe may set cookies necessary for fraud detection and payment processing. These are governed by Stripe's Cookie Policy.

Google

Google Analytics 4 (consent-gated, see Section 2) is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. The website also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of the font request but sets no cookies.

Cloudflare

Our website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. Cloudflare's use of cookies is described in Cloudflare's Cookie Policy.

Sentry

Sentry's error monitoring SDK in the app and extension may keep session information for error reports. No document content is included. This is governed by Sentry's Privacy Policy.

6. What We Do NOT Use

  • No advertising or marketing cookies
  • No analytics without your consent
  • No social media tracking pixels
  • No cross-site tracking of any kind
  • No fingerprinting technologies

7. Managing Your Data

Website

  • Use the Change cookie preferences link below to reset your consent choice
  • Clear site data through your browser's settings (Settings > Privacy > Clear Browsing Data)

Mobile App

  • iOS: delete the app, or use Settings → Delete my data inside the app
  • Android: Settings > Apps > PaidWrite > Storage > Clear Data, or uninstall the app
  • Note: clearing app data generates a new device UUID on next launch; prior scan history and any remaining credits will no longer be reachable from that device unless you export them first

  • Or: chrome://extensions > PaidWrite > Remove

8. Do Not Track

PaidWrite does not engage in behavioral tracking regardless of your browser's Do Not Track (DNT) setting. We do not track your browsing activity across websites.
